I know, I know...it's been awhile since I've posted anything. I did get a run in last week and one in this morning. I've been doing a great job of convincing myself that I need more sleep because of the little guy. Truth be told, once I get my sorry ass out the door, I'm just fine.

Shoes were a little tight today. Love the Trance 7's, but I'm trying to find the best way to tie the little buggers. I think my left foot was going to explode.

It's a good thing I'm running this morning. Lots to think about. Especially what I'm going to do about my seniors. They can't get the show done???? It's our first one for crying out loud! I've got to find a way to get through to them. Yelling won't do it. Moving on might do it. Do I suspend my producers? Probably will be a game time decision on this one.

The Race for the Cure is in 2 weeks. My goal: sub 26:00 run. I've been having some pretty good runs lately on a hilly course and I know that the R4Cure is a flat, fast track. Wish me luck.

I did some math this week figuring out when I'd need to start training for a marathon or a half-marathon. Dec. 30th for the marathon (according to Hal Higdon) and Feb. 9th for the half. Hmmmm.....this could be a continuing thread in the blog. At least I know I plan on doing some kind of big run.

Goals this week:
  • 10 miles (3 days this week)
  • Drink more H20
  • NO FAST FOOD
  • Core exercises twice this week
Interesting article about the plight of the marathon runner in the Omaha World Herald....our illustrious black monolith of a "newspaper". I'm surprised they even knew anything else was going on outside of Husker "football".

Well, crap

Haven't gone on a run in 2 weeks. I know how I am, too. Once I get in these ruts, it's hard for me to get back. Sometimes I think that it's tougher to condition yourself mentally than it is physically. I have a lot of excuses too:
  • I'm busy
  • The baby's sleep schedule is messing things up
  • I really would like to sleep in
  • I'll do it tomorrow (my personal favorite)
I just have to lace em up and get at least 6 miles this week. I think 2 3 mile runs should get me back into the swing of things. I'm even considering bypassing running in the morning and hitting the road after school.

We'll see how tomorrow goes. It's supposed to rain tomorrow afternoon (another excuse), but I can at least get on the TM if it's too wet. Wish me luck. I hope to have a run report some time tomorrow.

Plagiarism!?

I finally got around to reading the September issue of Runner's World and noticed the title of an article:

"Running Off at the Mind"

Wow. I didn't know the blog had made it to the offices at Runner's World. Ha ha.

I'm battling a cold and recovering from a day at the local amusement park. Hopefully, I can get a morning run in tomorrow before I head down to KC for work.
