It was a good run. I got to decompress after a crappy week. The first week back from break is tough. I don't know who hates it more: the kids or the teachers.
How do I celebrate my longest run to date? By treating myself to one of these:

Yep, the Elvis sandwich. Follow me on this:
-Whole wheat bread (grains)
-Turkey bacon (protein)
-Banana (fruit)
-Peanut Butter (more protein)
That's my justification and I'm sticking to it.

ghts:-I need to get this guy back outside for a run. This is my dog, Maxfli. He's a really great dog, but he gets a little too excited when it comes to running. Last year, I used to take him out for 3-4 mile runs, but I think I overdid it and got an injury (ITBS). Max only knows 2 speeds: the one you see in the picture and then a dead-ass sprint. I think if I can devise a 2 mile route for us, I'll be fine. He's a good dog and he deserves it!
-I'm trying to organize a running group at school. Listening to my iPod is great on long runs, but I have a feeling that my motivation will soon wane on my way to training for the HM. I've never run with someone else, so it should be interesting. 4pm Tuesday is when we take off. Don't know if I should've set a distance or not.

wow.....after my 6 mile run I ate almost an entire pizza myself!! Yours is def more healthy :)
Okay, so I am THE bacon queen on this earth, and eat PB by the spoonful and bananas by the bunches. I gotta wonder, though, how that sandwich tasted? You describe the concoction yet fail to give us the play-by-play of the tastebuds? Oh how you tease!
Oh, it was delicious! I made some slight variations. I went with the Skippy Super Crunch (as opposed to plain ol' crunch). Oh yeah, I also slapped it on the grill pan so that the peanut butter would melt. Mmmm...
The only reason I had the courage to try this was when I had a peanut butter bacon burger at a local bar. The BEST burger I've had in a long time! My arteries are finally starting to open up after that one.
The first time you do any new distance is awesome. I can remember how hungry and tired I was at every new milestone! Good for you.
Maxfli is a cutie. I have a 2.6 that I will take my dog on. She's usually a little tired at the end but in the beginning I feel like she is pulling me up the hills.
Oh you should totally do a half marathon! You are already half way there...it will change your life :)
That looks yummy.
I love peanut butter and bananas, but I can't say that bacon with that combo sounds good... maybe it's one of those things you just have to try though. Here's a question though: is your dog's name pronounced like Max-fly or Max-flea? And was the name intended to bring up that association? :)
