Although we didn't have school this week, I didn't run out of things to do. And because I was so busy, I may have neglected to do a few things:
- Write the last movement in my concerto
- Finish writing the Great American Novel
- Pick up my kids from daycare
- Run
Here's the deal: I need to train for something. I can't just run just to run. There has to be a goal. That's why I'm throwing out the idea of the Omaha Marathon or the Half Marathon for my next big challenge. Very hilly course, but the appeal of running a race at home appeals to me.
Just throwin' it out there.

Screw the races, finish up that novel.

ONE?! You only did ONE?! You didn't even have a JOB this week! You probably didn't even watch your children while you were NOT WORKING! You fail as a runner AND a parent!
Okay, now that that's out of my system, Omaha isn't really that hilly. It's more hilly than Lincoln, but with the exception of a few large-ish inclines, it's probably no more than where you normall run.
I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but I may run the CB half with my work friend. Yes, I'm scheduled for some vacinations prior to race day.
Mmmm... enjoy your 40-day overdue Starbucks!
I think XC2 has valid points - you better sign up at least for the HM.
Races always provide the necessary motivation to make sure you get out there and run. And clearly, humiliation does nothing for you, so sign up for Omaha.

I just signed up for the Lincoln Marathon on May 3... come do the half of that!
Goals are always good to have...Google something...go somewhere exciting...join a run club.
Just motivate yourself:) We must not be helping very much!
One run only?!? Sign up for anything and everything NOW. It's your only hope, dude.
CB has a half marathon? That's one of the most unscenic places ever. I should know, I used to live there.
Seems to me, you are getting your butt kicked.
Do the race! You are totally getting your butt kicked by the girls!
Combine everything. Hum some bars, delineate the plot of the novel, run to the daycare and carry the kids on your back and beat the womenfolk!
Marathon? Half Marathon? Screw the long distances, train for a 10K and come run the Bolder Boulder with me on Memorial day weekend.
