We're all familiar with the phenomenon. One of your friends, 99% of the time female, screams "LET'S DO KARAOKE!" With trepidation, you figure that you can get really drunk and watch people make fools of themselves.
5 Cuervo shots later, you're grabbing the microphone from a guy who, in your alcohol-fueled opinion, just mutilated "Unchained Melody".
Which brings me to this week's interactive SSTIFY: What is the best karaoke song of all time? I'm not asking what song YOU like to sing, but what is the one song that everyone in the bar sings. I mean, everyone. There's been some debate on this in some of the circles I run in*. Here are some that we came up with. Feel free to add any in the comments box:

I chose the scene from Beautiful Girls because it represents the essence of what I'm trying to do here. That, and Uma Thurman is hot. At the very least, if you aren't singing the "bah bah BAHHH" part, you have no soul.

A quick YouTube search for this song gave me more karaoke versions than the actual version. Coincidence? I think not.

By BEST karaoke song, I assume you really mean the WORST. Thus I submit "Born to be Wild" - Steppenwolf. Drunken lunatics livng out the lyrics in public is hard to beat.
Dead or alive (deadliest catch theme) was the most recent to lure me in...and yes, while it wasn't 5 Cuervo shots, it was 5 of something.
BTW, ISU is going to dominate the Huskers or my URL isn't adamrISU! And you get a big fail for not mentioning it.
I have to argue this every time I see it...Uma Thurman is NOT hot. Not not not not.

My favorite karaoke experience was a couple friends doing a fine rendition of this song.

The guy ahead of us did a killer rendition of Nights in White Satin. My very very drunk compatriots and I did a version of New York New York that was so bad I think we got banned from the bar.... or something. It's a bit hazy.
Ummmm... The Man always does this great rendition of Jail House Rock... but I do love it when he sings Mony Mony ...
The last english language karaoke song I heard was Hotel California. Very appropriate considering the location and audience at the time.
