- Me leaving the blogosphere for months at a time
- Me saying I'm considering a marathon
- Me saying I'm going to blog more
- Ian getting another free set of shoes
I'm back! From about mid-March until about now, I actually have to DO stuff. Not only that, but my wife has adopted this "our kids aren't going to sit on their ass and play on the iPad all day" policy at our house. Apparently, this policy was adopted while I was in an intense game of Draw Something! Because of this policy, Kid 1 and Kid 2 have been hitting the hardwood or the soccer field.
I'm serious when I say this: I love my kids. I do. But they are hindered by their parents' genetics when it comes to team sports. I got one kid working on her dance moves while waiting her turn to practice her serve and I got another making grass angels while he's on the field.
|Halfway done! Not bored yet!|
They are interested in one thing, though and that's running. I've signed them up for a local race on Memorial Day. Kid 1 is going to do the mile and Kid 2 is going to do the 400m. AND THEY'RE GOING TO LOVE IT, DAMNIT!
We've already been to the track to practice. Kid 2 gets bored about about 300m and Kid 1 can run 2 decent 800m's. That gives me hope. Another thing that gives me hope is that she's got some decent form. She's made to be a runner. I can see the scholarships rolling in now! She said this morning that her legs hurt from yesterday. I quickly reminded her that she didn't stretch and probably needed new shoes. She was all about the latter. Much like her father.
Yes, I'm still considering that whole marathon thing. Not financially committed to one yet, but "considering" is better than "dropping to the half". Niki is pushing for it and Ian and Adam have fully committed to making fun of me. So I have that going for me.
I've got a couple things to maybe, possibly write about:
- I started a running club. Sort of.
- My Local Track: Cheap Babysitter
- Running for All the Wrong Reasons
Uh, when did Google/Blogger decide that everything should look like Google Docs? Don't like it. Don't like it one bit.
